Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) all-rounder Glenn Maxwell”s tumultuous run continued in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as he was dismissed for a golden duck in the Eliminator against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
Following the dismissal of Cameron Green, RR spinner R Ashwin dismissed Maxwell in the very next delivery as he tried to clear the long-on but found Dhruv Jurel near the fence. It was the 18th time that the Australian all-rounder was dismissed for a golden duck, joining fellow teammate Dinesh Karthik for the most number of ducks recorded in the lucrative tournament.
Incidentally, Maxwell also records the fourth highest golden ducks in Men”s T20 at 32.

Maxwell had earlier taken a break during the IPL 2024 season. He has featured in 10 matches in the ongoing season, scoring 52 runs, at a dismal average of 6.50 with the highest score of 28. The Australian has a strike rate of over 123 in the IPL 2024.
The Australia all-rounder was roped in by the RCB franchise at INR 14.25 crores during the 2021 Player Auction and since then has been a part of the franchise.
