India vs England: Ravindra Jadeja Dedicates His Success To Wife Amid Family Turmoil

Written by Samrat Chakraborty

Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged the player of the match for his brilliant display with the bat and ball. Jadeja scored a century and picked up seven wickets in the Rajkot Test. He played to his strengths and tried to bat consciously and his efforts paid off. On receiving the man of the match award, Jadeja dedicated it to his wife Rivaba amidst the family turmoil.

“I would like to dedicate this POTM award to my wife. She’s working really hard behind me and supported me throughout,” Jadeja said in a video shared by BCCI.TV.

Earlier, his wife, Rivaba, chose to ignore the accusations made by her father-in-law, Anirudhsinh Jadeja. The politician was asked about the accusations made by Ravindra’s father but the questions did not sway her away as she chose to stick to discussions around the event only.

In an interview that went viral on social media, Ravindra’s father had claimed that his relationship with the Indian cricketer and his wife has been strained for a long time now. His father alleged that Rivaba caused a rift in the family, a few months after marrying the Indian cricketer. He went on to mention that there has been no phone call exchange between them and Rivaba wanted everything (referring to his assets) to be transferred to her name.

Jadeja had responded to the accusations made by his father in a statement written in Gujarati. The statement said that the interview given by his father was ‘false’ and ‘meaningless’.
