Celebrity influencer Orry Awatramani is set to join the Indian Premier League 2024 commentary panel on JioCinema, the live-streaming partners of the lucrative tournament, for the opener between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday.
It is a strategic move from the live-streaming partner to boost the entertainment quotient of the tournament. However, the move did not go well with the fans, as JioCinema faced backlash for his appointment.
“Livers, Orry is on #JioCinema and so is #TATAIPL. Double the fun, double the entertainment. Watch #IPLonJioCinema starting 👉 22nd March,” JioCinema announced on their official social media accounts.

“Jio Cinema You Lost My Respect Today. Don”t call this shameless in your Show otherwise we will watch ipl on Star sports @JioCinema,” a fan commented.
“Such cringe. Laut aao Sony Max!,” another fan said.
“all this guy does is click pictures with celebrities, on what grounds or on what credibility are you guys inviting him as a guest?,” one more fan pointed out.
Orry has been a prominent celebrity influencer among the Bollywood superstars. He was recently spotted at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant”s pre-wedding celebration in Jamnagar. But his inclusion in the biggest T20 league was unexpected as he doesn”t belongs from the sports fraternity.
Incidentally, Orry joins the star-studded commentary panel, which includes former India cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, a veteran in the commentary box, who is set to make a comeback as a commentator in the IPL 2024 after a decade.
Sidhu, 60, has been away from commentary for quite some time now but he is confident of taking on the role like a fish takes to water. His undying love for cricket has kept him going in the unforgiving world of politics.
Following his retirement from cricket, Sidhu took on commentary stint which he was not very confident of initially. However, he grew through the ranks with his own antics, and was paid heavily for the entertainment he provided from the commentary box.
