Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni was captured in an unusual state during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Tuesday as he lost his calm at the cameraman and threatened to throw a bottle at him.
The incident took place during the phenomenal partnership between Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube at the MA Chidambaram in Chennai when the cameraman zoomed in to capture MS Dhoni. Following the gesture from the former India captain, the cameraman focussed back on the match proceedings.

The partnership between Gaikwad and Dube accounted for 101 runs for the fourth wicket. It helped the hosts post a total over 200 runs while Gaikwad became the first CSK captain to score a century. However, despite his valiant effort, LSG all-rounder Marcus Stoinis stole the show with an unbeaten 124 to guide his side over the finish line.
Gaikwad said that it was tough to accept the defeat at the post-match interview. “Tough pill to swallow but LSG played a good game at the end. We had the game in hand around the 13th over, but hats off to Stoinis. There was a huge part that the dew played. It took the spinners away from the game. We could have taken the game deeper. But it is a part of the game, you cannot control the uncontrollable.”
Following the loss, CSK are currently placed at the fifth spot in the points table with four wins and as many losses from eight matches.
