YouTuber-turned-prizefighter Jake Paul is set to face off against the former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson in one of the most polarizing spectacles of the recent boxing spectrum. Incidentally, Paul raised to combat sports fame when he knocked out former NBA player Nate Robinson on the undercard of Tyson”s exhibition match in 2020.
There is a contrasting difference between Paul and Tyson. The 27-year-old is three decades younger than Tyson who is one of the greatest and most fearsome heavyweight boxers to have lived. It is, however, unclear how the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation will approach the match which will surely gain a lot of attention. The clash is yet to be classified as an exhibition or pro clash.
“Fighting Mike Tyson is such an honor. To step into the ring with one of the two most famous people to ever grace the sport of boxing – not only will this be the biggest fight of my life, but I think it has the opportunity to change the history of boxing,” Paul said on his YouTube channel.

The bout between Paul and Tyson will take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The stadium is known as the home for Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. The 100,000-seat capacity stadium will get one of the biggest bouts of the year.

The bout between Paul and Tyson will take place on July 20. For those, who can”t make it to Texas, the bout will be aired as the main event of a card on Netflix. Through this bout, the streaming company will foray into combat sports and it will be the third live sporting event to be aired on Netflix overall.
Paul”s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) had inked a deal with Netflix for a boxing card last year, as disclosed by MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian.
“Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is a once-in-a-lifetime dream matchup and I anticipate it will be the most-watched boxing event in modern boxing history,” Bidarian said in a statement.
