India’s star pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah has etched his name in the record books by becoming the fastest Indian pacer to reach the milestone of 200 Test Wickets.

Bumrah achieved this milestone during the fourth Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. He dismissed Travis Head for his 200th victim, joining an elite group of bowlers who have achieved this feat.

Bumrah’s average of 19.5 in Test cricket is the best among all bowlers with 200 wickets or more, surpassing legends like Malcolm Marshall, Joel Garner and Curtly Ambrose.

This achievement is all the more remarkable considering Bumrah’s journey to the top. He has consistently demonstrated his ability to take wickets on any surface, earning him the reputation as one of the most feared fast bowlers in the world.

Bumrah’s record-breaking feat has also seen him surpass Kapil Dev’s record of being the fastest Indian pacer to take 200 Test wickets. Kapil Dev achieved this milestone in his 50th match, while Bumrah has achieved it in just his 44th match.

Bumrah is also the second-fastest Indian bowler to reach 200 Test wickets, behind only Ravichandran Ashwin, who achieved the feat in 37 matches. Bumrah’s 200th wicket also marked his 28th wicket in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Bumrah’s magnificent performance has also earned him the top spot as the leading wicket-taker in international cricket this year.
