Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh expressed his shock at England’s performance in the World Cup Campaign. Harbhajan commented that the wicketkeeper-batter has looked clueless so far in the event and they look far from a champion side in the tournament.

The World Cup winning former spinner also questioned England’s decision in bringing back Ben Stokes out of retirement and also questioned Jos Buttler’s captaincy.

Harbhajan’s comment came after England’s 8-wicket crushing defeat against Sri Lanka at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. England Captain was only able to manage 95 runs in five outings at an average of 19.00. England’s batting unit seem struggling throughout the ongoing ICC event.

Speaking of their loss in the last match, Harbhajan Singh stated that Jos Buttler and company looks like a pale shadow of their glorious past.

“England loved to chase in white-ball cricket and had batters who only dealt in fours and sixes,” he added. “However, forget about boundaries; they aren”t even sure of how to take singles. It seems as if they have forgotten how to play this format. They haven”t looked like world champions.”

Jos Buttler is in his most underwhelming form at the World Cup and his team have lost 4 matches out of 5 in the tournament. They have lost against New Zealand, South Africa, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka so far.

Next England will have to face the Men in Blue in their fixture of the ODI World Cup. But Harbhajan Singh commented that England with this form will not be able to beat India in Lucknow. The spin-friendly track in Lucknow will make it even more difficult for them to beat the in-form team.

India and England will lock horns on 29th October at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday.
