Manu Bhaker Breaks Silence On Taking Her Olympics Medals To Events

After trolls attacked India’s Paris Olympics’ shooting medallist Manu Bhaker criticising her for carrying two bronze medals she won to various events, the Haryana born Olympian broke her silence on the matter.

Despite the abuse and mockery, Bhaker has been holding this for a long. And finally she chose to respond to this issue and stated that she wore those medals with pride and it’s her way of sharing her journey.

“The two bronze medals I won at the Paris 2024 Olympics belong to India. Whenever I am invited for any event and asked to show these medals, I do it with pride. This is my way of sharing my beautiful journey,” Bhaker said on an X post.

Addressing the online comments about being seen with bronze medals at event, Manu replied “I will, yeah! Why will I not?” to Times of India. However, she also revealed that she was compelled to bring her silverware to these events on organisers’ request.

Manu Bhaker turned out to be a stand out performer for India with her two bronze wins in the Paris Olympics 2024. Her first medal came in the Women’s 10m Air Pistol event, which also marked India’s inaugural medal at the Paris Games.

Building on this momentum, Bhaker teamed up with Sarabjot Singh in the Mixed Team 10m Air Pistol event. The duo exhibited remarkable coordination and mutual understanding, essential qualities in mixed team events. Their combined efforts culminated in another bronze medal for India. This achievement made Bhaker, the first Indian to win two medals in a single olympic edition.
