Manu Bhaker Finishes Fourth In Women's 25m Pistol Silver

India’s ace shooter Manu Bhaker missed out on her third Olympic medal after displaying a stupendous performance in the women’s 25m pistol event at the Paris Olympics 2024. She had displayed one of the most memorable performances in her favorite event in the qualifying, however, had to settle for a fourth place at the Chateauroux shooting range on Saturday.

At the age of 22, Manu Bhaker, India’s ace shooter had landed on the doorstep of feat which was unthinkable in Indian sport, a hat-trick of Olympic medals. Unfortunately, she was eliminated in the third of fourth elimination in the shoot-off.

Bhaker is already a two-time medallist at Paris 2024. She has won two bronze medals in the women’s 10m air pistol and mixed team 10m air pistol event at the Paris 2024 Olympics so far.

With another sublime qualifying round on Friday, Manu Bhaker qualified for her third final of the Paris Olympics. She shot an amazing 294 in the ‘precision’ round and was even more menacing in the rapid round to score 296 and aggregate 590.

Sushil Kumar and PV Sindhu are the only two athletes who have multiple Olympic medals in individual events since India’s independence. So far, all three Indian medals, all bronze, have come from shooting, with Manu being involved in two of them.

Manu became the first Indian athlete to win two bronze medals in one edition of the quadrennial showpiece.
