Aaron Judge, American baseball outfielder won 2022 title, while Simone Biles, LeBron James and the United State women’s soccer team won the title in the recent years.
After guiding Argentina to its World Cup success and extending his record by winning his eight Ballon d’Or, Messi has added one more recognition award to his kitty. The football messiah after completing his 2022-23 season in Paris Saint German with a total of 21 goals and 20 assists, he then flew all the way to US to join the English legend David Beckham’s team. Though his former club Barcelona as well as Saudi Arabian league club Al Hilal showed interest in the player, he chose to continue his football career with Inter Miami.
Messi mania then came into US which got immediately recognised by the Time Magazine. The 36-year-old in his write up in Time’s magazine said about his dilemma in choosing his next step. “The truth is that fortunately, I had several options on the table that were interesting, and I had to analyze them and think, even weigh them up with my family, before making the final decision to come to Miami,” Messi said.
Though many star footballers joined the club earlier, including David Beckham and Wayne Roone, none was able to make an impact as Messi did, as he joined the club directly after descending from Qatar’s World Cup stage as World Champions.
Messi’s presence in US has created a major change in the US’s sporting world. “Messi managed to do what once seemed impossible: turning the US into a soccer country,” Time wrote.
Messi impact then got extended to his club, Inter Miami too scoring 10 goals in seven League Cup appearances rushing the team to victory.
The arrival of the Argentinian player has also created waves off the pitch with fans rushing into stadiums in pink jerseys. Messi magic is spreading now creating wonders all in United States.
