Finally, both representatives of French football sensation Kylian Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)”s Qatari owners sat down together to resolve the transfer standoff concerning the player.

According to latest reports from European media, the player will be allowed to go if any club comes forward and pay the Qataris €250million ($273m). The sources said the discussions happened between the club officials and the player’s entourage was “moderately optimistic”.

However, the Paris side has yet to receive a formal transfer offer from clubs that want to buy the golden boot winner of the Qatar World Cup 2022. The player has attracted interest from across the globe, including record-breaking offers from the Saudi Pro League, a new destination where Europe”s elite professional footballers are flocking like flies these days.

The impending transfer saga began when PSG”s all-time top scorer and one of the hottest properties in the football transfer market, Kylian Mbappe, informed the Paris club that he would not renew his contract next summer in a letter he sent to the management in June. This has ultimately fueled speculation that the French champions will be forced to sell Kylian Mbappe this summer, for which the transfer window will close on September 1. If they do not sell Mbappe this season, the player will leave as a free agent and the club will not receive any transfer fee. However, if they sell the player this summer transfer window, with his current value in the football transfer market skyrocketing each day, the club could potentially rake in at least $250 million.

Rumour mills are working in full swing concerning Mbappe”s transfer. Real Madrid is playing a wait-and-see game, hoping to take advantage of both scenarios: (1) securing the player”s signature when he becomes a free agent, and (2) seeing if they can buy the player now with a lower price tag.

Real Madrid is currently in search for a forward after the departure of another French star and Ballon d”Or winner Karim Benzema to Al Ittihad.
