Sha’Carri Richardson, the American sprinter began her Paris Olympics journey looking for a redemptive gold in the women’s 100 meters. However, the electrifying sprinter this time had to settle for a silver medal on a wet track.
The 24-year-old in her sporting cat-eye makeup and her signature nails powered through rain and earned the Caribbean nation’s very first Olympic medal with a time of 10.87 seconds, across any sport, in history.

Over the past three years, she had put herself in tireless work and reminded the world that one shouldn’t look in the rearview mirror.
The Paris Olympics finished off her three-year ordeal that began before the Tokyo Games when Richardson tested positive for cannabis.
From a very young age, Richardson possessed an exceptional athletic talent. Her breakout moment came in 2019 during her freshman year at Louisiana State University (LSU).
She has stunned the athletic world at the NCAA Championships by clocking an incredible 10.75 seconds in the 100 meters, setting a new collegiate record. Soon after, her international career took off. Turning pro, Richardson became one of the most talked-about athletes in track and field.

Richardson achieved that in her Olympic debut with training mate Melissa Jefferson joining her on the podium, claiming the bronze medal.
She will have another chance at a gold medal during the 4×100 relay. After what happened in Tokyo, Richardson’s finish on Saturday was both a crowning achievement and a crushing disappointment.
