His backfoot punch through the covers looked like he has been practicing them forever but Vaibhav Suryavanshi is only 13.
The Bihar prodigy entered record books when he notched up the fastest century off 58 deliveries for India U-19 against Australia on Day 2 of the 1st Youth Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Tuesday. His 62-ball innings was laced with 14 boundaries and four hits over the fence, allowing the hosts to take a three-run lead in the first innings.
Suryavanshi showcased that he has the pull, cut, and more importantly, timing on his shots as it looked like the ball hit the sweet spot time and again. The left-hander had a strike rate of 167.74.
