Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is usually in charge of his junior players and dictates terms with his witty and humorous comments. However, young dasher Tilak Varma owned him with a witty response during a net session ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Saturday.
In a video posted by MI on their social media accounts, Rohit asks Tilak, “Ay hero! Kya kar raha hai bhai? Chappal mai ghum raha hai! Garden mai aaya hai kya (Why are you roaming around in sandals? Are in walking in a garden)?”
“Hai na bhaiya Eden Gardens. (Yeah, this is Eden Gardens),” Tilak wittily responds.
“Kya? Eden Gardens?” a perplexed Rohit says bursting into laughter.

The “garden” comment first came into light during the Vizag Test against England earlier this year, when the Team India captain reminded his young teammates to stop roaming around the field like a garden which was picked up by the stump mic and went viral on social media.
Already eliminated-Mumbai Indians will play for their pride in the IPL 2024 clash against KKR. They are currently at the ninth spot in the points table with eight points in 12 matches.
Meanwhile, KKR will look to put one foot in the IPL 2024 playoffs. They currently lead the IPL 2024 points table with 16 points in 11 matches after eight wins.
