The tech giant Apple is planning to strengthen its presence in India following the success of its flagship stores in Mumbai and Delhi. Apple stated on Friday that the company is set to launch new retail stores in Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai as well. Thus, India will get 4 more Apple stores taking the total count to 6.
Apple‘s senior vice president of Retail, Deirdre O’Brien has expressed enthusiasm about the expansion of more Apple stores in India. “We’re thrilled to build our teams as we plan to open more stores in India and we’re inspired by the creativity and passion of our customers across this country.”
He also said that the new Apple retail stores may offer an immersive experience which will be designed to recreate the feel of a town square. All the customers can explore products, attend workshops, and receive expert advice from knowledgeable staff and the new stores will provide more opportunities for Indians to engage with Apple’s innovative products and services, he added.

In addition to retail expansion, Apple has announced that it is now manufacturing its entire iPhone 16 lineup in India. This includes the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max which will cater to the Indian market and select export markets. It will be the debut “Made in India” iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max series set to kick off this month.
Apple’s manufacturing journey in India began in 2017 with the iPhone SE. Today, the company collaborates with multiple manufacturing partners primarily located in southern India. Apple employs over 3,000 people in India with thousands more working for suppliers. Apple has also partnered with CleanMax to provide additional clean energy capacity as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability, This initiative supports Apple’s goal to be fully carbon-neutral for its supply chain and products by the year 2030.
