AI Is Enough: Google To Fire 30000 Employees, Implement AI Tools Instead.

As the discussion about AI replacing the human workforce is on around the world, the fresh news coming from the search engine giant Google is alarming to employers. According to reports, Google has implemented innovative tools powered by AI in the ad sales unit and as a result, it is planning to reorganize its workforce, firing 30,000 employees, as per the report from The Information. As part of Google’s innovative journey advancing artificial intelligence, the company had earlier this year laid off nearly 12,000 employees, marking the tech giant’s biggest job cut since its formation. Google launched an AI-powered campaign planner called “Performance Max” in 2021. However, it added generative AI features to create custom assets and scale them with minimal human intervention.

Reports suggest that the reason for the purported firing is that the company has introduced innovative AI-based tools capable of automatically creating and suggesting new ideas and ads, which can also perform well. The new tools might require minimum attention from the operators, enabling the company to cut budget by firing employees.

The Information report further sheds light on that many entities have taken the Performance Max, replacing the employers skilled in selling ads for particular Google services such as YouTube, Search, Display, Discover, Gmail and Maps.

With AI being introduced, it is reported that the company has raised a big margin in its profit. the performance efficiency of the innovative tools powered by AI along with the minimal human requirements is expected to contribute a huge revenue hike for the company.

The latest news of Google’s biggest cut was aired by Google”s president of the Americas and Global Partners, Sean Downey, in a meeting the previous week.

During a meeting last week, Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai talked about the firing of 12,000 as part of the innovation powered by AI. He also spoke on the impact of the firing on the morale of the employees, terming it “the most difficult decision for the company” and adding that the company had not faced a similar situation in 25 years.

However, there have been conflicting views on the AI’s capacity to take over the human job. In a recent interview, the tech Mahendran”s outgoing CEO CP Gurnani had said that  AI will only expand the job market, creating more jobs than it is expected to cut. But the reality, with job cuts, firing and layoffs all around, makes the vulnerable professionals more concerned about the future.
