According to a recent report, the new operating system might include AI-driven custom emojis that change based on user text inputs. In the latest Power On newsletter from Bloomberg, Mark Gurman reports that Apple is set to introduce a variety of new features with iOS18. Many of these updates are expected to utilize AI technology, while others will focus on adding more personalised options to the existing interface.
The report claims that the custom emoji is based on what the user is typing. For instance, if someone types “Holi” the AI will generate different emojis to that particular festival. Users can also select emojis and change them accordingly.
The report did not specify whether there will be any guidelines to prevent users from misusing the feature to create inappropriate or obscene emojis. However, it raises concerns about the potential for abuse of the new feature among users.
The global tech company, Apple has also may abandon the traditional grid layout for apps, which has been a staple since the first iPhone, and instead enable users to position app icons freely. Additionally, there are hints that users might gain the ability to change the colours of app icons.
