Facebook is said to be facing an outage that has logged out users. Meta is rejecting the password, even though the password is not wrong. Instead of showing the skeleton version of the platform, Facebook is kicking out users, with an error message popping up. The message reads that your log in has expired. When try to log back in, the credentials are rejected.
As per Downdetector, an outage reporting platform, the outage was at peak around 8:45 pm with over 3,000,00 reports, while around 20,000 reported on Instagram being down. . The platform said over 77 percentage of the users reported about the problem.
It appears that Facebook is not the only showing facing an outage. All the Meta platforms are having the same issue. Reportedly, Messenger, Instagram and Threads are also showing the same issue. However, it may not be necessary to change the password yet, as the user is not being phished, but rather a service disruption.
Meta spokesperson Andy Stone responded about the issue. Taking to X, Stone said the Meta is “working on the issue”.
We”re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now.
