WhatsApp’s new video note feature allows users to record and share up to 60-second videos directly in chats as this feature provides a convenient way to communicate visually, according to Meta. This was rolled out earlier but the company has increased its duration to 60-seconds with some new features.
How to send a video note?
To send a video note, open the desired chat and press and hold the camera icon next to the text field to start recording on WhatsApp. When you’re finished, simply release your finger and the video note will automatically be sent. Alternatively, you can tap the camera icon, swipe to the Video Note tab, record your message and tap Send.
If you are curious about who’s viewed your video note, you can press and hold the sent video note then tap Info and view recipients who’ve played the video note under “Played by.” This feature helps you stay informed and construe who viewed your video notes.
Using Lock Mode for Hands-Free Recording
Lock mode enables hands-free video note recording that will make it easier to capture your thoughts. To engage in lock mode, open the desired chat then press and hold the camera icon and slide upward to lock the hands-free recording. Then, tap Send to share your video note. In lock mode, you have several options such as: Flip the camera by tapping the camera flip icon to switch between selfie and back-facing cameras and also note that recordings always start from the selfie camera. You can stop recording by tapping the stop icon and send by tapping Send.
Additionally, responding to video notes is now seamless as you need to open the chat, view the video note and press and hold the camera icon to start recording. Then, tap Reply on the video message to start recording your response.
