OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Welcomes Baby Boy

Sam Altman, the CEO of Open AI, has announced the arrival of his baby boy with partner Oliver Mulherin on Sunday. The couple, who tied the knot in late 2023, welcomed their little one earlier than expected, and he’s currently spending some time in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Taking to his X handle, Altman Wrote: “Welcome to the world, little guy! he came early and is going to be in the NICU for a while. He is doing well and it’s nice to be in a little bubble taking care of him. I have never felt such love.”


Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was among the first to congratulate the couple, saying, “Parenthood is one of life’s most profound and rewarding experiences. Wishing you and your family the very best.”

Sam Altmanan and Oliver Mulherin who is a software engineer, tied the knot in a private ceremony between late 2023 and early 2024.

Photos of their seaside wedding went viral in January 2024, confirming the news. Since then, the couple has kept a low profile, with one notable exception: attending the 2023 US State Dinner for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
