Here’s Everything Apple Announced

Apple has unveiled its latest generation of devices at its September 9, 2026, “Surprise and Shine” event, marking the first major iPhone launch under new CEO John Ternus.

The biggest announcement was Apple’s first-ever foldable iPhone, called the iPhone Duo, alongside the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Apple also introduced the Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and AirPods 5.

Apple’s A20 Pro chip powers the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max and comes with major upgrades to the camera, battery and performance.

The Pro models feature a new 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, giving users greater control over photography and depth of field.

Apple has also introduced new Pro controls within the Camera app.

The phones feature a smaller Dynamic Island and a new-generation vapour chamber designed to improve sustained performance. Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro Max delivers its biggest-ever increase in battery life for an iPhone, with up to 43 hours of video playback according to Apple’s India website.

The new Pro models come in four finishes: black, silver, glacier and burgundy. They run iOS 27, with Apple Intelligence and new Siri AI capabilities built into the experience.

In India, pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max begin at 5:30 pm IST on September 12, while the phones will be available from September 18 at ₹1,79,900.

Apple Unveils iPhone Duo: A Revolutionary Foldable Era Powered by A20 Pro and iOS 27

The biggest surprise of the event was the iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable iPhone. The device opens into a 7.6-inch internal display and has a 5.4-inch external display when folded. Apple describes it as the largest display ever offered on an iPhone.

The foldable is designed for multitasking and includes an iOS experience adapted to the larger screen. Apple has also focused heavily on durability, with a precision hinge and a thin design. The device supports Apple Pencil Pro and uses the A20 Pro chip.

The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 in the US, while its India price has been reported at ₹2,99,900. Unlike the Pro models, the foldable will arrive later, with reports putting availability in October.

Apple also announced the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. The new watches bring upgraded health and fitness features, along with Apple’s latest S11 chip. The Ultra 4 is positioned as the more rugged and premium option, while the Series 12 continues Apple’s mainstream smartwatch line.

Apple also introduced AirPods 5, adding new audio features including active noise cancellation and adaptive sound. The new AirPods lineup also includes wireless charging and other upgrades aimed at improving everyday listening.

One notable point from the event was what Apple did not announce. The standard iPhone 18 was not part of the September launch. Reports indicate Apple is expected to introduce the more affordable iPhone models at a later date, potentially in 2027.
