Telegram has recently announced a major update, which includes several new features for its users. The popular messaging platform”s latest version, 10.5.0, brings improved calls with a new design, fresh animations, and enhancements to the app’s bot platform.

In the latest update, which was released on December 31, Telegram has redesigned the user interface (UI) for voice and video calls. The platform has included new animations and backgrounds that change dynamically based on the call”s status: ringing, active, or ended. Telegram also claims that the new interface requires fewer resources than before, which will save battery life and work better on older devices. Notably, Telegram calls are end-to-end encrypted. The messaging platform has also fixed several bugs and interface glitches and improved the call quality. “More improvements to connection and audio quality are coming in 2024,” added Telegram in a blog post.

Telegram now also has a Thanos snap-style animation for deleting messages. This animation was first unveiled on Telegram’s iOS app in November. The new effect, named “vaporize animation,” will be available on both Android and iOS, and it plays whenever the user deletes a message.

Telegram has also introduced updates to its bot platform. It is worth mentioning that Telegram”s free bot platform allows developers to integrate services into the Telegram ecosystem. With the new update, bots are now able to react to messages and manage reactions, quotes, and links. According to Telegram, bots can also get information regarding giveaways and boosts in channels where they are admins.
