What India Searched In 2024: Google Reveals Top Searches

Google has released the top searches in India for the year 2024. For collating this data, Google has used its Google Trends tool which offers a glimpse into the world’s curiosity, showcasing the questions, moments, and individuals that captured global attention. The Year in Search highlights “breakout” topics—searches that surged by over 5000% in 2024 compared to 2023.

The listings are based on aggregated Google Trends data from January to November 2024, features breakout queries reflecting significant cultural and historical events. Each showcased item represents a person, movement, or moment that resonated in India.  Year in Search lists spotlight trending queries with the fastest growth this year, grouped into topics combining terms in various languages. Data spans January 1 to November 23, 2024.

While editorially curated, according to Google, the campaign isn’t exhaustive, focusing on moments with widespread cultural or historical impact, and it reveals the shared experiences shaping our world through search trends.
