As the CEO of Perplexity AI, Srinivas has been at the forefront of developing AI technologies. His company’s product, Perplexity Pro has gained monumental attention for its capabilities in the AI world.
Born and raised in India, Srinivas pursued his passion for computer science and earned his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley.
His research focus on AI and ML has led to significant contributions in solving complex business challenges. Srinivas’s work has been recognised at conferences and industry events, solidifying his reputation as a leading expert in the field.
During his internships at OpenAI, DeepMind, and Google from 2018 to 2021, he worked on developing deep learning models for vision and making transformers more universal for computation.
These experiences not only deepened his understanding of AI and ML but also instilled in him the desire to build a product that provides fast, accurate and truthful answers to users’ questions.

He is also a proud alumnus of IIT-Madras and has taken the entrepreneurial route, co-founding Perplexity AI. Srinivas, who holds a dual degree in electrical engineering from IIT-Madras.
