Diljit Dosanjh’s Dilluminati concert in Guwahati witnessed an extraordinary moment on Sunday. Diljit Dosanjh, singer, actor and film producer who works majorly in Punjabi and Hindi cinema, is a on a nation-wide tour which has attracted huge attention due to the statements the singer has been making before, during and after the concerts. Today, amidst the performance, Diljit Dosanjh, the outspoken singer paused, and in that silence, and then spoke in volumes about none other than later former Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh who died two days ago aged 92.
Dosanjh, spent over two minutes to pay a heartfelt tribute to Dr. Manmohan Singh and called him a symbol of simplicity and grace, even while holding one of the most powerful positions in the country.
“Diljit didn’t stop there he drew a sharp contrast, comparing today’s political fights in Lok Sabha to nursery school quarrels. The crowd erupted not just in applause but in reflection,” wrote journalist Afrida Hussain on X. “It wasn’t just a concert. It was a moment,” she added.

Dosanjh has also talked about the legacy of Dr Manmohan Singh as the first Sikh Governor of Reserve Bank of India.
Dr Manmohan Singh was cremated with full state honours on Saturday at Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi, amidst an atmosphere of mourning and reverence. His funeral, attended by prominent national and international dignitaries.

Dr Singh, who passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday at AIIMS Delhi, was given a 21-gun salute as part of the state funeral. His eldest daughter, Upinder Singh, lit the funeral pyre in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi, among others.
