Mercedes-Benz, the renowned German automobile manufacturer, is celebrated for its pioneering role in the luxury car market and its commitment to safety. Established in 1926, the brand traces its origins to Karl Benz, the inventor of the first petrol-powered car, and Gottlieb Daimler, a key figure in automotive history.

Mercedes-Benz has long prioritised safety, often leading the industry in innovative features. The company claims to have introduced several groundbreaking technologies that are now standard across the industry, such as crumple zones in 1959, anti-lock braking systems (ABS) in the 1970s, and airbag systems in the 1980s. Their modern vehicles are equipped with advanced driver assistance systems, including active brake assist, attention assist, and Pre-Safe, designed to prepare the car for an imminent crash. Mercedes-Benz continually emphasises the blend of luxury and safety, asserting that their vehicles are designed not only for comfort and performance but also for protecting occupants.
