New Delhi: Senior BJP leader Rekha Gupta, who won from the Shalimar Bagh (North-West) constituency, was sworn in as the new chief minister of Delhi on Thursday. The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Ramlila Maidan with the presence of several dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, among others.
Gupta won a spectacular victory in the recent Delhi Assembly Election, securing 68,200 votes and defeating AAP’s Bandana Kumari by a margin of 29,595 votes. The BJP returned to power in the national capital after 27 years, securing 48 seats in the 70-member House in the recently held assembly election, ending decade-long AAP rule.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued an official notification revealing the six cabinet ministers of Delhi. Parvesh Verma (New Delhi), Manjinder Singh Sirsa (Rajouri Garden), Ravindra Kumar Indraj (Bawana), Kapil Mishra (Karawal Nagar), Ashish Sood (Janakpuri), and Pankaj Kumar Singh (Vikaspuri) have been appointed as ministers in the Delhi cabinet.
