In the recent polls, the INDIA alliance secured 43 out of the state’s 80 Lok Sabha seats, while BJP-led NDA was reduced to 36, down from 64 in 2019.
The state BJP unit has submitted a 15-page report listing various drawbacks:
1. Administrative Arrogance
Party workers felt sidelined by bureaucratic high-handedness, leading to a sense of humiliation and powerlessness among MLAs.
2. Paper Leaks
Over 15 paper leaks in the past three years bolstered the opposition’s claims of the BJP impeding reservations.
3. Stand On Reservations
The party leader’s stance against reservation policies accelerated the loss of support.
4. Hiring Of Contractual Workers
The recruitment of contractual workers for government jobs fueled the opposition’s narrative against the BJP.
5. Drifting Of Community Vote Banks
Reduced support from Kurmi, Maurya, and Dalit communities, along with a 10% decrease in BSP votes and Congress gaining in three regions, impacted results.
6. Faults In Election Campaigns
Rapid ticket distribution initially helped but caused worker fatigue in later phases.
