The Iranian embassy in India has received an overwhelming response, including from the purported BJP supporters, donating and sharing screenshots of their contributions, after the embassy shared bank details such as QR code and UPI ID for humanitarian aid.

The post has attracted significant traction, including thousands of reports and comments, mainly the screenshots of donations made to the Iranian embassy amid the ongoing US-Israel attack against the Islamic Republic.

While many donors cited the ancient civilizational connection between India and Iran as a reason to support the country, several others were moved by the killing of civilians.

In the social media post on X, the Embassy thanked the people of India for providing humanitarian assistance. “We wish to inform you that, in response to your requests and in order to facilitate the process of aid delivery, this Embassy has established a dedicated bank account along with the QR code provided below. Bank Account Name: Embassy of Iran NEW Bank Account Number: 45027539287 IFS Code: SBIN0000691 You are kindly requested, henceforth, to transfer your contributions exclusively to the announced account number and to refrain from depositing funds into any other accounts,” the post reads.
