All Eyes On Rafah: Bollywood Actors Express Solidarity With Palestine

A day after an attack on a camp in Rafah killed 45 Palestinians, many prominent names from Bollywood expressed their solidarity with the people of Palestine who are being killed by brutal Israeli attack. Noted figures who posted solidarity messages with the messages “All Eyes On Rafah” inlude Varun Dhavan, Sonam Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Samantha, Dulquer Salmaan, Rakul Preet, Tripti Dimri, Norah Fatehi, Amy Jackson among others.

The attack on the refugee camps, which are housing over 1.5 million displaced Palestinians from devastated Gaza, has drawn strong international condemnations. Those who remained silent so far have also been triggered by the reckless acts the Isreali army has done to the people sheltered in the camps.

With the hashtag and image trending, people across the world seem to be seriously disturbed by the deep, dark, and horrifying days of innocent fellow human beings, including women and children in Rafah. With no safe zone left for the people, Israel still continues to pound the city despite global outrage. However, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called the latest Rafah attack a “tragic mistake.”

The Iran Embassy in India has also posted the viral solidarity message with the caption “All eyes on Rafah,” a phrase that refers to the ongoing genocide in Rafah, Gaza, with over 1.4 million Palestinians seeking shelter.”

Since the war began on October 7, 2023, more than 36,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks. Over 81,136 have been Seriously wounded and millions displaced. The humanitarian crisis in the city is also at its worst, with hunger deaths, pandemics, and lack of sanitariness being reported. Hospitals treating the wounded and sick are also under a severe shortage of basic amenities including electricity, pushing hundreds to miserable death.

The enclave’s health ministry on Monday said 45 people, including 23 women, children and elderly, were killed in the attack. A total of 249 others have also wounded. Notably, the Kuwait Specialty Hospital, one of Rafah’s two remaining hospitals in operation, has shut down following Israeli attacks, leaving the wounded with no options to health care. The hospital was already running weak, without adequate electricity. According to the latest report by the World Health Organization, only one-third of Gaza”s hospitals remain even partially functional.

Amid the global outrage, British actor Amy Jackson wrote a detailed note:

“Living our privileged lives while innocent people endure genocide is a stark contrast. As a mother, the pain and suffering of the 600,000 terrified, mostly orphaned children in Rafha is unimaginable. Our society has lost its moral compass. Film festivals and media outlets silencing outcry against genocide highlight the injustice in our world today. We demand a CEASEFIRE. Do not stay silent. Do not let our governments distract from the torture the Palestinian people face. There is NO JUSTIFICATION for the murder of innocent men, women, and children.”
