Avenging Ismail Haniyeh's Death Is Tehran's Duty: Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei, expressed his deep condolences following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, in Tehran. Haniyeh was usually based between Qatar and Turkey.

In a series of posts on X, Khamenei extended his sympathies to the Islamic Ummah, the Resistance Front, the Palestinian people, and particularly to Haniyeh’s family and loved ones. He prayed that Almighty God would elevate their ranks.

Khamenei emphasized that Martyr Haniyeh had been committed to the dignified battle for many years, prepared for martyrdom, and had sacrificed his children and loved ones on this path. He condemned the “Zionist” regime, stating that they had martyred Iran’s dear guest on its territory, causing grief but also laying the groundwork for severe punishment.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reportedly said he would make Israel feel regret for the cowardly killing of Haniyeh and Iran would defend its territorial integrity, honor pride, and dignity.
