Extremist Israeli settler Daniella Weiss was nominated for 2025 Nobel Peace Prize. Weiss, who advocates for the complete annexation of the occupied West Bank and Gaza, was nominated by two Israeli academics, Amos Azaria of Ariel University and Shalom Sadik of Ben-Gurion University.

Azaria, and Sadik submitted the candidacy, claiming that the decades-long efforts by Weiss “have promoted stability” in the occupied Palestinian territory.

They said the death of considerable number of Israelis and tens of thousands of Palestinians was recorded in the Gaza Strip, the casualties were “significantly lower” in the West Bank due to the role played by Weiss in preventing friction and large-scale conflict.

“Weiss’s activities strengthened security and stability, and as a result, contributed to reducing bloodshed in the region”, the Israelis said in the letter submitted.

The 79-year-old Israeli leader leads the radical Nachala settlement organization that calls for the complete annexation of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Earlier she served as the mayor of Kedumim, an Israeli settlement located in the West Bank. The provocative language used by Weiss against the Palestinians has led to violent settler attacks, as reported by media.

There are 338 candidates nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2025. 244 among these are individuals and 94 are organizations. The winners will be announced in October, with the award ceremony taking place on December 10 in Oslo, Norway.

According to international community, Israeli settlement are illegal under the and the Geneva Conventions due to their construction on occupied territories. Earlier, the United Nations Security Council has condemned Israel’s settlement activities in several resolutions.

Israeli settler harassment against Palestinians are mounting everyday. Houses and roads are demolished and everyday life has been threatened to the brink. Local resident told media that settlers took about 1,500 sheep and goats from a village near Ein al-Auja community, located north of the ancient city of Ariha, Jordan Valley, West Bank, after accusing the Palestinian Bedouins of theft.

The alleged theft took place at around 9.00 p.m. (1900 GMT) on Friday, began when Israeli settlers drove some of their own sheep into the Bedouin community and called the police. They then pushed their way into people’s houses and drove sheep and goats from the pens as police and soldiers stood by, the Bedouins said, as per media report.

More than 700,000 Israelis live in over 230 settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds.
