A Flynas flight skidded off the runway while landing at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on Sunday. According to airport officials, there were no casualties, and all passengers were safe. The Flynas flight XY224 originated from Doha International Airport.

Al-Khalid International Airport stated on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 19:34 local time, that during landing, flight number XY224, originating from Doha, skidded off the main runway and stopped in the middle of the ground. Passengers were safely disembarked, and their health was checked by airport management.

“The management of King Khalid International Airport clarifies that, praise be to God, there are no injuries among passengers, and the necessary regulatory procedures are being completed,” the statement added.

The plane that skidded off the runway travelled through the buffer zone before stopping at a nearby ground. After disembarking and ensuring the safety of passengers, the airport authorities examined the health condition of the passengers.

In August 2018, another such incident had reported from the King Khalid International Airport when flight 9W523 skidded off the runway. A Mumbai-bound Jet Airways flight from Riyad with around 150 people on board went off the runway. The incident had happened following an aborted takeoff. There were no injuries as passengers were evacuated safely.
