United Nation Secretary General Antonio Guterres called for an urgent ceasefire in Gaza. UN chief took to his official X handle and demanded unconditional release of all hostages and the delivery of life-saving supplies at the scale needed.

United Nations on Friday night issued an appeal for humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza as Israel stepped up its bombing in Gaza strip. Israel has also knocked out the internet and communications in the besieged enclave. The genocide has now reached 22nd day.
The International Organisation for Migration has renewed its call for a ceasefire. The UN agency said on X : “Civilians must be protected. There are no winners in war. The most vulnerable pay the heaviest toll.”

On Friday, the UN Assembly adopted the Jordanian Resolution calling for a ceasefire and humanitarian pause in Gaza. The 193 members world body has voted to adopt the resolution. With a vote of 120-14 with 45 abstention UN passed the resolution by rejecting a Canadian amendment backed by United States to unequivocally condemn the “terrorist attacks” by Hamas and demand the immediate release of hostages taken by the militant group.
Across Palestine, the overall death toll has surpassed 7,000 with around 16,000 people injured and wounded from Israel raids and bombing.
