Noa Argamani, the Israeli woman who had spent months in captivity in Gaza, on Friday stated that she was not harmed by the Qassam Brigades but by the Israeli regime itself. Her statement came after several Israeli media claimed that she was abused by Gaza resistance fighters,

In a social media post, Noa clarified that the Israeli media had misquoted her. “I cannot ignore what happened here over the past 24 hours, taking my words out of context,” she wrote on Instagram, referring to the media reports of her statement during a meeting with G7 countries in Tokyo on Wednesday. In the meeting, she had given a detailed account of her condition after being taken as a captive on October 7.

“Al Qassam Brigades’ members did not hit me while I was in captivity, nor did they cut my hair; I was injured by the collapse of a wall caused by an Israeli airstrike,” she wrote on her Instagram story.

The 26-year-old also underlined that “no one hit me during captivity, but I was injured all over my body after the airstrike”.

She also added that she has already been a victim of October 7th incident and thus refuse to be victimised again by the Israeli media.

Noa Argamani was taken captive on October 7th and the video of her being taken out of the occupied territories on the back of a motorcycle was widely circulated in the media.

Argamani had also said that Hamas members moved her between different locations and allowed her to go outside occasionally, disguised as an Arab woman. She also described the incident of the Israeli missile attack on a house where she had been detained. “I saw the missile hit the house and thought I would die, but I survived,” she said.

Argamani’s statement sparked outrage against Israeli media for creating different narratives about the captives in Gaza. And this hasn’t been the first instance in which the Israeli media has made false accusations about Palestinian fighters including beheaded babies and raping of women during October 7. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to repeat these claims.
