Iran had rejected all sorts of negotiations with Israel and had made it clear that it would only pursue serious negotiations after completing its response to Israel’s strikes. Iran had conveyed to the mediators of Qatar and Oman that it is not open to negotiating a ceasefire while it is under Israeli attack.

Israel had launched a surprise attack on Iran on Friday morning which had wiped out the top echelon of Iran’s military command and damaged its nuclear sites.

Meanwhile, according to CNBCTV18 reports, there had been reports that US President Donald Trump had rejected Israel’s plan to kill Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during the military strikes. The US officials while speaking to Reuters had affirmed that ever since the beginning of the airstrikes, they are in continuous communication with Israel and do not intend to go after Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei.

“Have the Iranians killed an American yet? No. Until they do, we’re not even talking about going after the political leadership,” a senior US administration official told Reuters. The official further claimed that Israel had an opportunity to assassinate Khamenei, but Trump rejected the plan.

However, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had rejected the claims and said that the conversation had never happened.

The Iranian officials had also dismissed media reports suggesting that Tehran had urged the mediators Qatar and Oman to engage the US in brokering a ceasefire or restarting the stalled nuclear talks. The claims were stated to be “inaccurate” as per the Iranian officials.

Iran, following the attack on Friday, had vowed to unleash hell in retaliation. As per the recent report, they have launched a new wave of ballistic missile attacks on Israel, including Tel Aviv and Haifa, killing at least eight people hours after the Israeli military again bombed the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Meanwhile, the US President Donald Trump said that he is hopeful Israel and Iran can make a deal, but adds his country will continue its support for Israel.
