Iran Rejects Pakistan-Brokered US Peace Proposal, Puts Forward 5 Conditions.
Tehran, Iran: The Islamic Republic of Iran on Wednesday, March 25, rejected the United States peace proposal sent through back channels, iranuan media reported.
The US had sent a 15-point proposal for ceasefire in Iran via Pakistan. The conditions laid out by Iran include permanant halt to attack, the right to exercise its authority over the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the report, an official stated that Iran will continue its defensive operations until the country’s conditions are met. Iranian official said that it has reviewed the proposals and considers them exaggerated, underling that the war will end when Iran chooses and only if its conditions are met.
Other than halt on attack and recognition of Iran’s authority over the Strait of Hormuz, the conditions include payment of damages and reparations and an end to fighting across all fronts.
Iran has informed the regional mediators that it will continue to defend itself and will not allow the Trump administration to impose a timeline for ending the conflict.
After Trump said that he held negotiation with Iran, Iran military had mocked him, stating the president negotiated with himself, rejecting claims that Iran wanted a deal to end the war by announcing ceasefire.
