Iran Rejects PM Modi's Request To Allow Indian Ships Via Strait Of Hormuz?

As per some reports, Iranian President Masoud Pezheshkian has denied the Indian PM Narendra Modi’s request to allow Indian ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. One such news is widely circulated on social media via an account with the Iran Press platform.

However, no such confirmation is issued by the Indian government or spokespersons from India or Iran.

Notably, the Indian Prime Minister spoke to the President of Iran to discuss the serious situation in the region.

Indian spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal has informed that energy security issues had been discussed with Iran by India, but did not elaborate further.

Indian foreign minister S. Jaishankar has also spoken to his counterpart in Iran about the security of India’s security interests in the region and stability.

India is facing an acute shortage of LPG and oil, striking common people heavily.

The cargo ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz are being targeted by the drones, missiles, and suicide boats, raising concerns over the security of the busiest trade line of energy. The Iranian foreign ministry has said that the consequences are due to the aggression of the US-Israel, and the international community must pressure the US to stop its policies in the region.

Notably, the Indian government has refrained from directly speaking against the US-Israeli aggression and has stated, after 13 days of the horrific incident that took place in Minab, Iran, where 165 school girls were killed under a US attack in Iran.
