Iran’s Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called for unity in Middle East while delivering rare Friday sermon. Khamenei said that there is only one enemy, which is trying to sow the seeds of division among all Muslims. He said the enemy is same to Palestinians, Lebanon, Egyptians, Iraqis, Yemenis, and Syrians. “Our enemy is one”, he said.
The sermon was first in nearly five years since he last delivered one. While addressing the huge gathering, Khamenei said every country has the right to defend itself from its aggressors.
During the second part of his sermon, which was delivered in Arabic, Khamenei directly addressed the Arab nations. He said interference by foreign powers supporting Israel is the most pressing issue in the region. Khamenei said that the resistance against Israeli aggression has “set the Zionist regime back 70 years” as it is now fighting to survive as it did at the time of its founding.
