Gaza Ministry has reported that at least 15 people were killed in the airstrike attack on ambulance in Gaza city on Friday. Israel has confirmed the attack but have said the Hamas fighters had been the target.

A convoy of ambulances transporting the wounded patients from the Al-Shifa hospital to the Al Rafah border was targeted. Palestinian Red Crescent spokesperson Mohamed Abu Musbah said the area where the ambulance was hit was crowded with civilians.

UN chief Antonio Guterres said that he was horrified by the reported attack in Gaza on an ambulance convoy outside Al Shifa hospital. “The images of bodies strewn on the street outside the hospital are harrowing,” he added.

A school which hosted displaced civilians was also hit by Israel strike killing at least 20, according to the ministry.

While US Secretary of state Antony Blinken met Prime Minister Netanyahu on Friday in Israel. Blinken will meet several Arab leaders in the summit on Saturday which is to be held in Jordan. During the meet with Israel leaders, Blinken urged for an “humanitarian pause” in Gaza.

Israel continues bombing on hospitals, schools, residents’ buildings across the besieged Gaza strip. They are also conducting raids across the occupied West Bank and have entered the towns of Nablus, Jenin, Hebron and Bethlehem.

A US official has said after a meeting with Israel that a “significant pause” is required in the fighting to release the captives held in Gaza. As per the CNN report, US expects Israel to reduce airstrikes soon and to focus more on its ground operation.

According to Palestinian news agency WAFA, air strikes continue to hit on Gaza strip through the night. Air raids have been reportedly taking place in western Gaza’s Al Nasser, Jabalia, Beit Hanoun, Atatra, al-Sudaniya and Beit Lahiya in the north and Gaza city’s al-Tuffah neighborhood.

Meanwhile, hundreds of foreign nationals and dozens of seriously injured Palestinians have been allowed to leave Gaza for the first time ever since the Israel-Gaza war began. The crossing of Al Rafah border was facilitated after the release of four hostages by Hamas and rescue of an Israeli soldier. Soon after the opening of Al Rafah border, multiple countries has announced the evacuation of the first group of their citizens from Gaza to Egypt.

At least 9,227 Palestinians have been killed in Israel attack on Gaza since October 7 and at least 24 Israel soldiers were killed since ground operations began in Gaza.
