Israeli social media influencers mocking the suffering of Palestinians is getting viral amid the escalating crisis over Israel-Hamas conflict. Israeli TikTokers ridiculing Palestinian people for their lack of access to power, and water. In the video clips, children are also involved.
The influencers are seen celebrating the power and water cut off from Gaza by flicking lights on an off, and by showing images of water pouring and drinking. There are also TikTok videos mocking the appearance of Arab people, presenting them through racist caricatures. Noya Cohen, an Israeli influencer released a “Get ready with me” TikTok makeup tutorial mocking Palestinian women covered in war debris. In some videos, Palestinians are also compared to dogs.

Netizens slammed these influencers for their insensitivity to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and unawareness of the intensity of the conflict.
Condemning the videos, one user wrote on X, “Is Palestinian genocide the new source of Israeli comedy or something?,” and another user elucidated: “this is an example of the anti-palestinian racist conspiracy theory of “pallywood,” where some zionists argue that palestinians manipulate media through “faking suffering” – unsurprisingly it”s also very similar to anti-semitic tropes too.. v telling about israel supporters.”

Meanwhile, Meta banned “Eye on Palestine,” a pro-Palestinian Instagram account over six million followers. They shared media content from Gaza, including images and videos of wounded people. Meta, the owner of Instagram and Facebook, said that they locked the account due to security reasons.
