On Day 5 Of Israel-Hamas War: Israel Faces Multi-Front Threat As Lebanon And Syria Joins Hamas

On the fifth day of Israel-Hamas tensions that is infelicitously rocketing with unbearable death tolls and casualties, Israel confronts multi-front war threats from Lebanon and Syria. The development is the aftermath of growing concerns in the Gaza strip about the regional stability. The death toll in Gaza according to the recent reports has surpassed 1,000, leading the discord a worst ever savagery in the region’s history.

The former Hamas chief Khaled Meshaal reportedly issued a statement calling for protests across the Arab world in support of the Palestinian resistance movement, said Reuters. Meanwhile, Israel stated that they have successfully recaptured Gaza border from the Hamas group.

The United States, as Al Jazeera reports, redoubled their support to Israel and the former pounds sealed-off Gaza Strip to punish Hamas.

Israel-Hamas tension stepped into the fifth day, and the death toll is rocketing.

Above 1000 deaths were reported from Gaza, including 260 children and 230 women, and at least 4,500 remains wounded; said the Gaza Health Ministry on Tuesday. The count of wounded includes 15 health workers and 20 journalists.

Israeli death toll climbed to 1200.

Palestinians are fleeing to UN shelters as Israel continues air strikes. Approximately 140,000 citizens were shifted to UN shelters and hospitals. At least 200,000 residents have been displaced.

Several health institutions, houses, roads, ambulances and other buildings were destroyed.

Gaza faces fuel, food and electrical shortages. Communication systems are disrupted.

A mass military mobilisation is in continuation in southern Israel and the country is reportedly preparing for a possible ground operation in Gaza.

Israel forces dropped white phosphorus, an incendiary weapon banned  by international law, on the al-Karama neighbourhood in Gaza, reported the Wafa news agency.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro criticized Israel and compared the Gaza strip to a World War II Concentration camp. The comment was rejected by the World Jewish Congress as it is an insult to the six million victims of the Holocaust and to the Jewish community.

Russian President Vladimir Putin described the war as a result of failed US foreign policy.

US President Joe Biden confirmed that American citizens are included in the hostages captured in Israel. He condemned the war as “sheer evil” of Hamas militants, and expressed support to Israel.

Hamas rejected the US remarks as Biden covers up Israeli government’s “crimes and terrorism against the Palestinian people”.

US will send its top diplomat to Israel on an urgent mission. Anthony Blinken, State Secretary will reach Israel by Thursday and deliver a message in solidarity to Israel.

A small group of US Special Operations Force is working with the Israel in planning and intelligence.

According to Israel, they shelled Syria on Tuesday after rockets hit some open land in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.

Two Filipinos were killed in the attack, confirmed Philippine Foreign Secretary Enrique Manalo. The country is ready to work for a long-lasting resolution to the conflict.

Canadian government is planning to evacuate their citizens through the Tel Aviv airport in Israel. They will be airlifted by the Canadian Armed Forces.

Foreign countries are trying to determine how many of their citizens are trapped, dead, and missing in the war-hit areas.

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky visited Israel on Tuesday and extended support. He brought around 30 Czech nationals to home on his plane.

White House confirmed that the US Intelligence agencies had no signs of the Hamas attack.
