Protests Escalate In Bahrain After Shia Activist Tortured To Death By Ruling Family Amid US-Israel-Iran War
Manama, Bahrain: Opposition groups and the Shia majority civilian population of Bahrain have escalated protests against the ruling King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa after Shia activist Muhammad al-Mousawi, a vocal Iran supporter, was arrested at a checkpoint and tortured to death.
The body of the Shia leader was handed over on March 27, sparking widespread protest over the police crackdown and suppression of dissent in the kingdom. Videos from Bahrain show protesters burning barricades, firing flares, and chanting against King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa amid the US-Iran war.

Bahrain is home to the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet, which is currently facing attacks from Iran, causing major civil unrest, which originally began during the historic 2011 Arab Spring. The Shia majority civilian population has been protesting against the undemocratic Sunni family rule.
The opposition allege that the ‘Bahrain regime’ is ruled by Saudi origin Sunni king sponsored by the US, despite most of the population is Shia, cracking down their voice and right in the country.

Since US-Israel attack killed Iran supreme leader and Shia community’s most respected figure Ayatullah Ali Khamnei, riots and clashes have broken out in Bahrain between pro-Iran protesters and security forces loyal to the Al Khalifa regime in Bahrain.
The demonstrators are calling for alignment with Iran and the expulsion of US forces at the US Fifth Fleet base from the country as the US-Israeli offensives against Iran continues.
