“Enough Is Enough”, Qatar Calls Israel To End The “Barbaric Bombing Of Innocent Civilians”

Edited by Fathimathu Shana

Qatar continues to hammer away its adamantine stance on Palestinian cause. Qatar Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani pronounced his country’s firm stance in backing the Palestinian cause and made sure that the question of Palestine stays at the top of the priority list of the country’s international movements.

During the opening of the 52nd annual session of the Shura Council, the Qatar leader said that the only way to “guarantee security and stability” for both the parties is something that has been “put aside until now”. Qatar said the only possible way to attain an everlasting “just and peace” between Israel and Palestine is to give back Palestinian people their legitimate right to their land “including the establishment of their independent State, on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital”.

During the session, Qatar called out the “double standard” of the west against the genocide unfolding against Palestinians. Mr. Al- Thani said, “we do not accept double standards, nor do we accept acting as if the Palestinian children’s lives are not worth to be reckoned with, as though they are faceless or nameless”. He also called for an “earnest regional and international stance” against the dangerous escalation that threatens the “security and region of the world”, and to end the bloody war to “prevent the circle of conflict from spilling over”.

Taking to social media platform X (formerly twitter), Mr. Hamad Al-Thani said, the Israeli occupation’s “barbaric bombing of innocent civilians in Gaza is a dangerous escalation and exceeds all limits”. He said Qatar refuse to unleash attack on civilians of any country regardless of their nationality and added that the country “refuse to act as if the lives of Palestinian children do not count, as if they have no faces or names”.

He said, “we say to Israel: enough is enough. it is not permissible to continue ignoiring the reality of occupation, siege and settlement”. he called out for regional and international stance to be taken for ending the bloodshed.

This is not the first time Qatar is raising their voice in support of Palestine and denouncing then occupation of Israel in the land of Palestine. Qatar always made sure the Palestinian cause is on the table on all international platforms by using all its resources, ever since the illegal settling started to seep in to Palestinian soil, which is over seven and half decades ago.

The 52nd annual session of Shura Council also talked about the Qatar National Vision 2030, and emphasised that the growth depends on the “extent of investment in human capital”. Qatar recognised themselves as the “trustworthy mediator in peace making and conflict resolution through dialogue and diplomacy”, and highlighted how Qatari mediation has enabled the secure return of “four Ukrainian children from Russia” to their families.
