The railway network that spans approximately 1,200 km will connect all major seven cities in the UAE. The most notable peculiarity of the network is that it has the capacity to reduce travel times and promote sustainable transportation. Apart from the major cities, it will also connect regions spanning from Al Sila to Fujairah, including Ruwais, Al Mirfa, Sharjah, Al Dhaid, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai.

The two passenger stations now announced include Sakamkam in Fujairah and University City in Sharjah. The train will operate with speed up to 200 km/hr, which will help the passengers to reach Dubai from Abu Dhabi within 57 minutes. The train will have free Wi-Fi, infotainment system, charging stations, ample legroom, and advanced air-conditioning, report Khaleej Times.

UAE’s upcoming passenger trains will feature sleek, modern coaches with stylish interiors and plush grey seats. Each train will have the capacity to accommodate over 400 passengers, offering first, business, and economy class options. Much like airline seating, the layout follows a 2+2 configuration across all coaches, ensuring comfort and convenience for travelers.

The high-speed train project is expected to contribute Dh145 billion to the UAE’s GDP over the next five decades.
