The hospital was cut off from the world and was blockaded by Israeli tanks. The occupation force claims it to be Hamas headquarters, which was denied my Hamas resistance group and Gaza health officials. The current situation in the hospital is extremely grim and harrowing. The health professionals from the hospital said World Health Organisation that the situation is “dire and perilous” and the “hospital is not functioning as a hospital anymore”.

The hospital has been shelter to thousands who have been displaced since October 7th. As per report from United Nations, more than 10,000 which included sick, wounded, staffs and displaced people are trapped inside the hospital due to the fierce bombing going on.

Paediatric doctor, Mohammed Tabasha told Reuters that, “yesterday I had 39 babies…today 36. I cannot say how long they can last. I can lost another two babies today…or in an hour”.

Doctor Ahmed Al Mokhallalati and Gaza Health Ministry spokesperson Ashraf Al-Qudra told that there are more than 100 dead bodies in the hospital that has started to decompose. Mr. Qudra said that due to the lack of power and fuel, more than 32 patients including three new born babies lost their lives in last three days.

Mr. Qudra said that they are ready to move the babies “even to the occupation hospitals”, but the besieged battle ground has no way to do so. “we have no objection to have the babies moved to any hospital, in Egypt, the West Bank or even to the occupation hospitals. What we care most is about the well-being and the lives of those babies”.
