23-Year-Old Influencer Shot Dead After Social Media Post Gave Away Location: Report (image@landyparraga.ec)Landy Parraga Goyburo, a 23 -year-old influencer based in Ecuador was shot dead. Moments before she was attacked, Goyburo posted a picture on her social media account of having ‘Octopus Ceviche’ as lunch at a restaurant in Quevedo. Reportedly, her last social media post gave away her location to the two armed men who attacked the influencer.
Surveillance camera captured the incident. The footage showed two armed men entering the eatery where Goyburo was seated. She was talking with a male friend of her, said media report. Gunmen barged in and fired at the influencer, ruining the tranquil atmosphere. While patrons dive for shelter, Goyburo and teh man she was talking with was left defenseless.
After firing at the influencer, the gunmen escaped the scene. Images showed Goyburo lying in a pool of blood. As per media report, Goyburo, who represented Los Rios province in 2022 Miss Ecuador pageant was in Quevedo to attend a wedding.
The influencer’s Instagram account have over 173,000 followers. The motive behind the crime is not known yet. Rumours and speculations circulates with some theories hinting that her alleged involvement with notorious gang boss might be the reason for the attack. Another rumour points that her involvement in the corruption inquiry linking the judicial officials might have led to the attack. There are also rumours about the influencer being killed by the widow of a drug lord Leandro Norero, with whom she allegedly had an affair with. Goyburo gained greater attention when her name came up in a chat between Norero and his accountant Helive Angulo.
