Apparently, the world is going to be engulfed in a tug of nuclear war. It is said that Chinese President Xi Jinping has ordered the Chinese Communist Military to prepare as an imminent global conflict is at the door step. The move came after Israel’s plan to attack Iran were leaked. The theory was put forward by Alex Jones, American TV show host and conspiracy theorist. He made the remark during The Alex Jones Show.

By citing “Germany’s largest newspaper”, he also added that NATO is planning to provide Ukraine Nuclear Weapons.

Chinese state media has reported that Xi Jinping called for the troops to prepare for larger war. The call came days after Beijing staged large-scale military drills around Taiwan.

Xi made his comments while visiting a brigade of the People’s Liberation Army Rocket Force on Thursday, according to state-run broadcaster CCTV.

Xi said the military should “comprehensively strengthen training and preparation for war, (and) ensure troops have solid combat capabilities”, state media CCTV reported. Soldiers must “enhance their strategic deterrent and combat capability,” Xi said.

Russia has been threatening to use nuclear arsenals if the West indulge or provide military support to Ukraine. Putin said he would use nukes if Ukraine is to be made part of NATO.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at first said that he told US Republican candidate Donald Trump that Ukraine wanted to be part of NATO, or else it would pursue nuclear capabilities to protect itself. However, on October 17th, during a press conference with ATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, he walked back the comment, and explicitly said that Kyiv is not seeking nuclear weapons.

“We never spoke about…that we are preparing to create nuclear weapons or something like this”, he said, as quoted by media.

After Ukraine attacked Russia last September, Putin changed Russia’s doctrine to use nuclear weapons. He said Russia could use nuclear weapons if it was struck with conventional missiles, and that Moscow would consider any assault on it supported by a nuclear power to be a joint attack.

After Iran attacked Israel, as a retaliation of the assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukur, and Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, Israel owed to respond.

Some observed that Israel is planning to attack Iranian oil installations, and nuclear facilities. While US President Joe Biden said he oppose both, US still approved the deployment of a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defence system and United States troops to Israel, possibly in anticipation of an Iranian response to an Israeli strike.

Republican candidate Donald Trump said Tel Aviv should hit Iran’s nuclear facility first.

Israel has not so far followed any directions from US, and Washington still continued it unwavering support. Israel has also been reckless in its response. The frenzy of actions largely blinded by the humiliation caused by groups it deemed smaller, weak, and enemy.

Not to forget, North Korea’s Kim Jong Un has repeatedly threatened to use nuclear weapons in conflicts with South Korea and the United States. North Korea’s nuclear policy has become more aggressive in recent years, and the country has taken steps to increase its nuclear capabilities. Reportedly, Pyongyang disclosed a new platform likely designed to fire more powerful intercontinental ballistic missiles targeting the mainland U.S.

North Korea, and Russia has joined hand in many way, including the alleged trading of arms. Russian aircraft carrying military arsenal were spotted in Tehran.

The tension between US and China are also simmering, over Washington’s efforts to build a network of alliances around China, as well as US support for Taiwan, which Beijing claims to be theirs. No nuclear threat between the two were heard so far.

The increasing warning from United Nations and anti-nuclear activists cannot be ruled out. They kept saying that the world is moving closer to a nuclear war, by design or by accident.

Melissa Parke, Executive Director of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), who is also winner of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize, told IPS News that, “We currently face the highest risk there could be a nuclear war since the Cold War. There are two major conflicts involving nuclear-armed states in Ukraine and the Middle East where Russian and Israeli politicians have made overt threats to use nuclear weapons”.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, speaking at the high-level meeting commemorating and promoting the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, called nuclear weapons as “double madness”.

The first madness was the existence of nuclear arsenal that could wipe out entire human population, and the second madness was the risks such weapons pose to humanity. He said “we are no closer to eliminating them than we were 10 years ago. In fact, we are heading in the wrong direction entirely”.

So, though most of Alex Jones theories were taken as rooted from fake news and bland conspiracies, it appears that a nuclear tug of war cannot be ruled out completely, considering the pace with which world leaders are competing.
