At least seven people were found shot to death on Monday in two different locations near Chicago in the United States. The shocking incident happened at two residences in Joliet. Police said that they have launched a manhunt for the suspect, identified as Romeo Nance.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press reported that eight people have been killed at three locations since Sunday in the Chicago suburbs. The police said that the motive for the killings is still unclear. However, police also added that the suspect knew the victims. Joliet Police Chief William Evans said that the FBI’s fugitive task force is assisting local police in the search for the suspect. “I’ve been a policeman 29 years and this is probably the worst crime scene I’ve ever been associated with,” said William Evans, as quoted by the Associated Press.

Police said that the suspect is believed to be driving a red Toyota Camry. They also said that Romeo Nance should be regarded as “armed and dangerous.” The Joliet department said in a statement that anyone with information regarding the suspect and the vehicle should contact their local law enforcement agency. Authorities have also shared a photo of the suspect and images of a vehicle. However, the police have not yet revealed the identities of the victims.

According to a CBS News report, the 23-year-old suspect was arrested earlier for aggravated discharge of a weapon involving a woman. The report also mentioned that the court documents indicate that the suspect was out on bond for a 2023 shooting case and was awaiting trial.
