Since Israel and Hezbollah are on the brink of a full-on war, Canada is preparing for a massive evacuation of its citizens from Lebanon, said Channel 12. Citing conversation between Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz and his Canadian counterpart Mélanie Joly, the report said that Canadian military was drawing up plans to evacuate 45,000 people from Lebanon.
There was no official read out of the conversation. It was not clear that if Ottawa is planning to evacuate nearly 35,000 of its citizens from Israel.

The conversation between Kartz and Joly came two days after the former congratulated Ottawa for declaring Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a terror group, said Times of Israel.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter), Kartz said that a decision on full scale war with Hezbollah will soon be taken. Hezbollah leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah warned about a war “without rules or ceilings.”
Israel had earlier displaced over 60,000 residents from northern Israel after October 7 Hamas attack, fearing Hezbollah would unleash similar attacks.
The US assures full support for Israel if a full-scale war between the latter and Hezbollah breaks out.
Israel and Hezbollah have been trading on thin ice since last October, after Hamas unleashed an unprecedented attack on Israel. Thousands have already fled their homes from the southern Lebanon. Dozens have been killed, in addition to hundreds of Hezbollah fighters and more than a dozen Israeli soldiers.
During the past two weeks, the intensity of the attack between the two has gone significantly up. On June 12, a day after Israel killed Hezbollah commander during an airstrike in Lebanon, Hezbollah, the alleged proxy group of Iran, unleashed a barrage of missiles aimed at northern Israel.
Hezbollah has claimed that it has struck and destroyed an Iron Dome battery located at an army base in Ramot Naftali, northern Israel. This incident highlights the Hezbollah’s capability to target and potentially overwhelm Israel’s missile defense systems.
